What is a Birthkeeper?
A Birthkeeper is a dedicated professional who provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support to mothers before, during, and after childbirth. Similar to the role of a Doula - however Birthkeepers are not necessarily bound by the policies of outside organisations which means they can provide individualised and unbiased care solely for the family who hires them.
Do I need to be flexible to practice yoga?
No. Yoga will help to increase your mobility and strength and our sessions are beginner friendly for any body type.
Where are your sessions held?
You can find us at the cosy 11:11 Yoga Studio. 21 Church Street, Calne, Wiltshire, SN11 0EN, UK. Near Avebury.
When can I attend?
It is best to build a regular practice anywhere from 14 weeks pregnant onwards. We welcome postpartum mums from 6 or 10 weeks depending on their birth and individual needs.
Do I need a yoga mat?
Purchasing a yoga mat can be a good investment. This will help you to continue your practice at home and can be a handy tool during labour. If you don't have one yet you are welcome to use the mats and props provided at the studio.
How much does it cost?
Our sessions vary in price from £6.50 - £18. You can make a saving by booking onto a course. Get in touch to find out more.
What should I wear?
It is best to wear comfy, stretchy or loose clothing which does not restrict the body. Shoes are not to be worn inside the studio. We encourage socks off for proper grip on the mat and many people like to bring a hair-tie if they have long hair.
Can I bring my baby?
Only our Motherbaby Circle is suitable for your little ones to join you. We encourage taking time out for yourself without distractions at our other pregnancy and postpartum sessions.
